Curriculum - Doors to Discovery

This curriculum builds a foundation for language, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print and a love of books.  Literacy enriched learning centers. Each month has a new theme.  It focuses on gross and fine motor skills.  Activities that help preschool children understand the sounds of spoken language and writing skills. Enriched with science experiments and cooking activities that the children enjoy and learn from. They will learn Word, Syllable and Rhyming awareness which will build a foundation for future literacy success.  Stimulating creativity will provide your child the opportunities to learn through play. We will give your child the readiness skills necessary to enter kindergarten and succeed.

Parents are kept informed of their child progress and every Thursday your child will take home their folder with all the work they have done during the week.

Free Tutoring

We also have a tutoring aid for students that need that extra help. It will teach them to break words into syllables. To identify the name and letter sound for uppercase and lowercase letters for example b, p and d.  It will give your child the confidence to independently respond to sounds and able to easily identify words that begin with those letters. We offer alternative strategies and challenging activities for learning.

Making A Difference

Academy for Kids recognizes that not all children learn at the same pace or in the same manner so we strongly believe that a smaller class size allows the teacher the time they need to work with the children individually and personalize their education.  We want to create a positive environment that inspires their interest and their creativity.
